End of Year AppreciationDAO using Coordinape

AppreciationDAO is an experiment to introduce the DXdao community to Coordinape as an effective coordination tool. Using it in a small year-end trial will provide contributors a chance to experience it.

As 2021 comes to an end, a lot has happened in the DXdao ecosystem. It seems appropriate to have an opportunity to express appreciation to any of your co-contributors at this time. This appreciation could be for the value they’ve created for DXdao, the hard work they’ve put in, the advice they’ve provided, the knowledge they may have shared, or anything else you appreciate that they have contributed.

Within this system, you will have the opportunity to write a “Note of Appreciation” and gift GIVE tokens to that teammate.

Each contributor will have 100 total GIVE tokens to distribute among the group.

Upon completion of the Epoch period, we will have an Appreciation Map showing flows of gratitude between contributors.

The plan is then to use this map to distribute an end-of year “trial” bonus to the recipients according to the GIVE distribution.

The proposed total distribution pot for this Epoch would be $25k. This could be in wxDAI or in DXD.

The following details should help provide some steps of the process.

Coordinape set-up steps (you can do these steps today):

  1. Visit: https://app.coordinape.com/
  2. Connect your wallet
  3. Confirm you are part of the DXdao Core Circle. (if not, please contact Sky or Melanie)
  4. Set-up your profile and include a short note in the “What have you been working on?” field
  5. Select any or all squad members you will want to gift to

December 2021 Epoch Details:

  1. The Epoch will begin and last about 7 days
  2. Write a “Short Note of Appreciation” and gift GIVE tokens to your Teammates
  3. Gift out all your GIVE tokens

Following the Epoch, the distribution rewards can be sent out via a Disperse Mechanism using the DXdao Dev Multichain MS on xDai.

For this first experiment, the plan is to test Coordinape with DXdao’s current core contributors as the Circle. It is possible to have a wider community Circle or more narrow Squad Circles as well.

I think this is a great opportunity for DXdao contributors to trial Coordinape and express gratitude to each other for the contributions made in 2021!

After some community discussions, it seems like consensus would be to wait until after the holidays and kick off the AppreciationDAO experiment in the middle of January 2022!

Kicking Off AppreciationDAO Using Coordinape

The below guide supplies all the details you will need to participate in DXdao’s AppreciationDAO using Coordinape.

Guide to DXdao’s First Coordinape Epoch

Regular core contributors to DXdao have been included in this first Coordinape epoch. If you don’t have access and think you should please reach out to @melanie or @sky this week.

The Epoch will run from Monday, January 31st 15:00 UTC until Saturday, February 5th 15:00 UTC.

If you have already set-up your Coordinape account, great!

If not, you can follow these steps:

  2. Connect your wallet
  3. Confirm you are part of the DXdao Core Circle. (if not, please contact @melanie or @sky)
  4. Set-up your profile and include a short note in the “What have you been working on?” field
  5. Select any or all squad members you will want to gift to

Complete the Coordinape epoch:

This is your opportunity to give appreciation to fellow contributors who you feel have driven value to DXdao, helped out you or others, have done something specific that you would like to reward them for, or anything that you appreciate about them.

Each contributor has 100 GIVE tokens to give out.

  1. Gift out all your GIVE tokens to your fellow contributors
  2. You can write also write a “Short Note of Appreciation” along each gift

Note: Coordinape does have the option to “Opt-out” of receiving GIVE tokens, but we encourage you not to for AppreciationDAO.

Following the Epoch completion:

Following the Epoch, the distribution rewards can be sent out via a Disperse Mechanism using the DXdao Dev Multichain MS on Gnosis Chain.

In parallel, the ContributorX squad will initiate a proposal to allocate 25,000 WXDAI from xDXdao to the DXdao Dev Multichain MS on Gnosis Chain to fund the pot for distributions.

For this first experiment, the plan is to test Coordinape with DXdao’s current core contributors as the Circle. For the future, it is possible to have a wider community Circle or more narrow Squad Circles as well.
